Payments on Weekends and Public Holidays

If your payment is scheduled on a weekend or public holiday, don't worry — it will still be processed on that day. What happens next depends on whether you're paying by card or bank account.

Payments made via credit or debit card
Card payments are completed instantly. If your card payment is successful, it's done. If it fails for any reason, Payble will notify you by SMS or email and automatically try again two days later.

Payments made via bank account

Bank account (direct debit) payments work a little differently – your payment is submitted to your bank on the scheduled date — even if that's a Saturday, Sunday, or public holiday. However, because banks don't process transactions outside of business hours, the payment will appear as "processing" and won't fully settle until the next business day.

This doesn't mean anything has gone wrong. It's simply how the Australian banking network operates, and it applies to all payment providers — not just Payble. Once your bank processes the payment, it can take up to 1–5 business days to fully confirm. During this time, you may see the status as "processing" or "pending" in Payble.

This is intentional — Payble holds off marking the payment as successful until it's confirmed so you're not caught off guard if the bank later reverses it (for example, due to insufficient funds). You will be notified of the outcome (either success or failure) of the payment via notification to your authentication method.

In short, your payment goes through on the scheduled day, regardless of the day of the week. However, if you are paying by bank account, expect it to show as pending until the next business day.
